Poetry and Music for Today

Not all scars can be seen, but they help make us who we are.

My Scars

My Scars, they suit me
I wear them with pride
They will always tell the truth
They never try to hide

My Scars, they suit me
They remind me of who I was
That past is gone, but not forgotten
I’ll always remember the cost

My Scars, they suit me
I have earned them every one
Each one stands in strength, alone
Together, all I’ve done

Your Scars, they suit you
Do not hide what they expose
Though thorns may prick and tear and bleed
Above them stands the rose
