HELLO EVERYONE! Welcome to my first post of the new year!
Taking a break for the holidays was awesome! For those just joining us ( 😉 ), I just started a new part-time library assistant position in November. Add that to my Library Tech. part-time program, writing my first novel, this blog and contributing my dark poetry to Mar (the fantastic creator of the book promotion site, The Bold Mom), it’s been a busy time. So, I decided a few weeks ago, to take time off, as both my husband and kids were on vacation. I didn’t blog, didn’t write for The Bold Mom, my courses finished (yeah!), and I didn’t even work on my novel. Instead, I focused on the new job and family time. It was wonderful!
Now I’m back, ready to tackle it all again! I have submitted a new poem to Mar, and wrote a follow-up poem, which I will post here, once she puts my first one on her site. My next courses don’t start until the 16th, so with both hubby and kids returning to their routines next week, I will be focusing on my novel. I’ve settled into my new job (which is totally amazing!), so I’m actually looking forward to going back to a routine. Like everyone, our life is never normal, and I am currently “living my dream life”. My goal at the end of 2016, after quitting my office job to go back to library work, was to return to school, work for a library, and WRITE, WRITE, WRITE!…and it now is happening! 🙂 🙂 🙂
It really has felt surreal. I took a writing break because I had to let the last month or so sink in. Now, I can focus on work, school, and writing. Mar is amazing at giving me the opportunity to write for her site, and the response that I get from you guys when I post my work, has done WONDERS for my self-esteem. Add the support of my amazing husband and kids and all I can say is…THANK YOU!!
My post picture features the two books that I currently have on my nightstand. A Man Called Ove, is my book club selection for January, and all I can say is that it’s a wonderful, charming, quirky tale, about an old man. Yep, that’s it. Read it yourself and discouver just what a sweet book it is. The Force Doth Awakens, is actually my older son’s book, and you guessed it, it’s The Force Awakens written as a Shakespearean play! He loved it and I can’t wait to get started on it. 🙂
Well, I think that I have rambled on enough for now. It’s great to be back, and I hope to have my new poem up on Wednesday’s post.
Until then, I hope that everyone has had a great start to the new year, and a wonderful weekend!
