About Me…

As of March 2017

I am a Whovian, a Trekkie, a Browncoat, a Potterhead. I am part of the Buffyverse, where I’ve flown in the Falcon to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe with my friends from S.H.I.E.L.D.. I’ve Marvelled at the wonders of science, and would love to be an honorary member of the JLA.

I am a “geek of all trades”, married to my best friend and mother to two teenage boys who inherited the geek gene.

I have also completed my first NaNoWriMo and have an outline to what I hope will be my first novel.  Finally, I am a mature student (well, I am a student, not so sure about the “mature” part).       🙂

When I started this blog, I wrote mainly about the geek culture, with some parenting and writing posts thrown in.  At the end of September, I had decided to move to four posts a week, following my tagline of GEEK, MOTHER and WRITER, plus an astronomy-inspired post called SPACE ODDITIES.

For a while it was great, until I realized that with everything else going on in my life, that well, I spread myself too thin.

After thinking about it, I have made the choice to cut back on how often I post.  My topics will still be either GEEK, MOTHER, WRITER or SPACE ODDITIES, but now they will only appear on Wednesdays and Fridays.

At the end of the day, it’s all about balance.

I hope that you my dear reader will understand.

The purpose of this blog has always been to give you a break in your day.  Whether it’s a bit of poetry about being a mom, a fascinating astronomy article, or a bit on the latest in geek culture.  I look forward to giving you food for thought, or even just a giggle.

For those who follow me, I hope that I continue to entertain you.  To those who have just found me, I hope to add some blogging fun to your own busy day.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you!

  1. OMG!!! That speech was amazing! My husband is a big fan of Game of Thrones. I’m forwarding it to him. Keep going! Just remember to have fun! Don’t look too far down the road. Just take that next step, whatever it is and don’t look back. Thanks for sharing your inspiring world! Thanks for encouraging others to follow their dreams. Thanks for giving me a wonderful, inspirational and entertaining break from all the fiction in my head. 🙂

  2. Omg! I love meeting fellow fans! I have fond memories of traveling in the TARDIS with Nine, I am a proud Ravenclaw (and apparently Horned Serpent according to Pottermore – let’s not even get into what my Patronus is sigh), I am firmly in the belief that I am related to Agent Melinda May (and nobody can tell me otherwise), Buffy is hands-down one of the most badass females EVER, and I long for the day Gandalf knocks on my door and takes me on an adventure. I also pride myself on my ability to marathon whole seasons of tv shows in mere days (it’s a legit skill, honestly!)

I look forward to stalking-I mean-diligently following your posts 😉

      1. Haha, feel free to peek in anytime! I feel that way usually when I meet fellow fans of the fandoms I love. There’s just something so magical about that connection, I think, because the fandoms we love say a lot about us ^_^
Thank you for popping by my blog!

  3. Hiya, I am really glad I’ve found this info. Today bloggers publish only about gossips
and internet and this is really annoying. A good website with interesting
content, that is what I need. Thank you for keeping this website,
I will be visiting it. Do you do newsletters?
    Can’t find it.

    1. Hi,

No, but I do plan on having something new up every week. I will be doing an author post in September after Fan Expo Canada. I have done three interview-style posts so far, but I knew my guests. This is with someone that I don’t know so it’s into new territory for me and I am excited. Thanks so much for your feedback. I want to keep myself unique as much as possible.

  4. Great first post! Love the name, Tina! I am a geek-in-training but since I’m a huge Potterhead, love all things Marvel, binge watching NetFlix and have been introduced (& love) Agents of Shield I think I’m on my way.

Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging!
